So I’m lousy at keeping active in my posts, but seriously, I’ve been sick and still working like crazy, more on those later. It’s a miracle that I even have clean clothes or a semi-clean dwelling. And if it weren’t for the thoughtfulness of my husband I might not have a clean kitchen or walked dogs. So much for Doing Domestic, right?
While I might not find time to write, I have been keeping up with my seedlings and getting my plants started for the summer growing season. The days are warming up here in Baltimore and everything is in bloom. I’ve been snapping pictures here and there and have some to share that show the progress of the seedings and plants that are outside.
Right now we only have a deck for growing, so this year everything is in containers and has to be somewhat space saving, a far cry from last year:
- The community garden plot that almost killed us.
Right now I have a bunch of things growing in pots. Here is the running list so far:
Fava Beans – 7 plants, Blue Lake Pole Beans – 5 plants, Roc D’Or Wax Beans – 3 plants, Sugar Spring Snap Peas – 8 plants, Swiss Chard – a whole bunch, Shiraz Tall Top beets – a few, Touchstone Gold Beets – a few, Candy Strip Beets – a few, Tuscan Kale – about a dozen plants, Roma Tomatoes – 2 plants, Celebrity Tomato – 1 plant, Tiny Tim Tomato – 2 plants, Patio Cherry Tomato – 2 plants, Patio Pickle Cucs – 2 plants, Bush Cucumber – 1 plant, Raven Zuchinni – 1 plant, Rosemary – 2 plants, Mint, Basil – 3 sweet, 1 Thai, Thyme – 2 plants, Mixed Radishes a bunch, Arugula, Red Sails, Romaine, Red Leaf and Butter Lettuce.
Here’s a few pictures. I made some trellises for the beans and am almost done rigging a hinged trellis for the cucumbers.
