I’ve found myself with a lovely three-day break from work this week. Luck of the draw perhaps, three days off in a row is like a mini vacation. With a smattering of doctor’s appointments and work meetings during the three days I find I have no choice but to stay local, no quick trips to see the fam or friends. Plenty to do here on the home front though, so fine by me to stay put.
I may have a bit of nesting starting to kick in. I had the hubs help me rearrange the living room furniture this morning on a whim while I was vacuuming up dog hair. Though the arrangement for the television is less than desirable, the flow is much better and opens up our living space that much more. Truthfully, I wish we could dispose of the TV and entertainment equipment all together, but the hubs isn’t ready for that yet – and frankly, I do still enjoy watching a movie from time to time. It was a big enough jump for us to make do without cable entirely more than a year ago now. It’s nearly been two years since we paid for cable TV, which is not that hard to do with the internet availability of most TV shows.
My dad stopped by for a few minutes today as he was passing through our area on the way to somewhere else. He brought some baby stuff that my mother has been collecting for me. I can’t say enough how blessed we are to have so many people want to give us their baby gear. The baby’s room is slowly being filled up with stuff.
On the baby front – all is well. I passed the glucose tolerance test and he is growing at the rate that he ought to be. His movements seem to be growing more coordinated and he is clearly getting big enough that he can punch and kick me at the same time. My belly sometimes looks (and feels) like it has a rumble ball trapped inside. We’ve definitely got an active little dude on the way.
Now that I’ve had a nice little break this afternoon I’m feeling compelled to get back to my cleaning. I still have a little more vacuuming to do and really wish to get the floors washed they feel dirty under foot (the kitchen is done). The dust on the ceiling fans has been eating away at me, and today is the day to tackle that task too. – Something tells me these urges to clean and organize are only going to become stronger as I get closer to the drop date. But I do feel so much better with each chore that is completed.
