My mom made something called Dump Cake when I was kid. We loved it! She loved it because it was easy.
Here’s the skinny – you dump a bunch of ingredients in a pan, bake it, serve with ice cream. Done.
In a 9×13 pan layer the following (in my pictures I used two smaller pans – taking one to the brother’s house)
1st – 1 can of crushed pineapple with its juice
2nd – 1 can of cherry pie filling (or homemade canned cherries)
3rd – 1/2 a yellow cake mix (just sprinkle half the bag over the fruit layer)
4th – a layer of sliced butter (one stick)
5th – the other 1/2 of the yellow cake mix
6th – another one stick layer of butter
7th – a sprinkling of pecans
Bake for 1 hour at 350 F until bubbly and GBD (golden, brown & delicious)
Yes, it’s that easy. Save room after dinner – you’re going to want seconds of this. (As I see it, it’s fruit and dairy so it’s a healthy dessert!)
