Yup, it’s been nearly two months since I last posted. I thought about the blog, quite a bit actually, but there’s been a lot happening. So I purposely stayed away. It was just too tempting to talk about things that were up in the air. And it’s hard to take back what’s been said, especially on the internet.
Baby G is turning one in a week! We’ve got a party coming up for him and I’ve got a lot still to do for it. I’m filled with lots of mixed, mushy emotions when I think about this past year and about my son turning one. He took his first steps last week and since has been working to perfect his ‘druken-sailor’ walk. He’s also trying to become a speed stair-climber. Quite frankly, it’s amazing to see them go from floppy little babies to toddlers who can book-it when they feel the need. I will be sure to capture the quintessential cake-faced baby picture and post it later this month!
Another, still up in the air – but pretty certain, turn of events is that the Cookin family is buying a house! It looks like DoingDomestic is about to get all kinds of DIY posts. Buying a house and fixing it up, decorating, or just plain living is blog-fodder in my own humble opinion. A little insight for you – I’ve had “apartment white” walls for the past 8 years of living with the Hubs, so you better believe I am all kinds of excited to be able to paint and decorate an entire house!! So, provided I find the time to blog, look forward to more on that.
And last but certainly not least…I hesitate to mention this as well just because you never really know what the future holds….but here goes anyways. We’re working on baby #2! Big, big stuff happening here! I’ve been away from blogging mostly due to sheer exhaustion and all-day morning sickness. But that has mostly passed and I am now in my second trimester, the parents have all been told, some friends have been told, others are being told right now-as-you-read-this. (Surprise!) The Hubs and I couldn’t be more pleased or delighted to have another on the way. May/June promises to be very busy for us, but in a good way. I feel very blessed to have found a great house, that we’re actually buying, to be able to move in and get settled and set up the way I want before this little one arrives. So without further ado – here’s the first pregnant with #2 picture for the blog.
